I am not always good with words so, instead, I write. It might be cliché, but it’s the truth. In life we are faced with many trials, some big,
some small. This folks, yea, it’s a big
one.
Recently we were given some very
devastating news, my step-dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The neurosurgeon and oncologist believes it
to be glioblastoma, the most common and most aggressive cancer which imbeds
itself into the brain with finger-like projections; in other words, impossible
to completely remove with one surgery.
So what’s next? Because a
glioblastoma tumor contains different types of cancer cells, the best course of
treatment is surgery to remove as much as possible, following up with
chemotherapy & radiation. Even then,
they say long-term survival rate is, well, you know…not good. Like, really not good.
This makes my heart hurt. At 35 I am certainly not ready to lose another father and what pains me even more is the thought of my mother losing her second husband…it’s just not fair. BUT, the Lord never said life would be. We have to trust the Lord that He knows what is best and this there is a purpose behind this infirmity. What exactly it might be is not for us to know. What we need to do is trust Him and as Keith Green wrote/sang He'll take care of the rest !!! I accept that a man so very dear to my heart has a super mean brain cancer. BUT we serve a God who is bigger than this, and is the ultimate healer. He IS the Great Physician! Whatever may come, whatever is in store…HE is there!!

We will be doing so much praying for your family! Your words are beautiful and right on. You may not know the reason for all of this, but trust in Him, and you will receive beauty for ashes. Lots of love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Monica dear for your love, prayers and support! Beauty for ashes...you are spot on! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I remember when Hollis came down and took me skiing. He said, do you think Wendy would go out with me? I said you'll never know if you don't ask. He told me that when he was little he would save her a seat on the bus hoping she would sit with him. His eyes sparkled and I knew that he was madly in live with her. They are lucky to have found each other. God's been good and will continue to bless. 💖
